Disney

I know it has been almost two months since our family vacation to Florida and I finally sharing some of our wonderful time.  We had an amazing time and even got in a few days with my aunt and uncle and cousins!
The adventure began way before we left NJ. I decided to create a count down to Disney for the kids...saw some great ones on Pinterest, of course.

Each day the kids got to take a clothes pin off the chart. I used my Cricut cutting machine, a sheet of red and black mickey mouse paper, and a good amount of stickers! I will post a tutorial soon but it wasn't difficult at all!

But here are a few pictures of our trip...

We got to spend some time with friends!!

Yea, I made that! Tutorial coming soon!

just  a little proof that I was actually on the trip

 Her favorite non-human

Highlights...from Jake, The Pirates of the Caribbean ride and becoming a pirate for the day.
From Lizzy, The new Ariel ride in the new section of Fantasyland.
Mommy (that's me), while watching the Electric Parade on Main Street USA in Cinderella blew a kiss to Lizzy and without hesitation Lizzy blew one right back to her. Even the strangers sitting next to us said that was cool. And it was Valentine's week so we got to see the Princesses with their Princes!
Daddy (the hubby), taking Jake on Thunder Mountain Railroad. And watching Jake having the most intriguing conversation with Prince Philip from Sleeping Beauty...we still don't know what they were talking about but it just went on and on.

We ended our trip with a few days with my aunt and uncle on Marriet Island...the uncle works at Disney and nothing could be cooler! We spent time splashing in their pool with my two cousins and even saw a dolphin swimming through their canal. Great way to end a vacation to Florida!

We are already planning our next trip!

Nap time

My kids have pretty much given up naps :-(
But today for some reason both have decided it was a napping time of day.
I think they know they need all if their energy to hang with Grandmom tonight!!
This is how I found the girl...tucked in and all snug in her tent ...

Pinterest Friday....DIY Night Lights

Let me begin by saying that I am in no way an artist. But I do love a good DIY!!!
So when my daughter started waking up in the middle of the night complaining her room was too dark I began searching for something crafty to help me. I found this amazing site on Pinterest and decided to try it  out.

Pinned Image
The moment I saw it I knew this was the perfect solution. Check out the site here
I knew that my pink princess would like something that would match her decor!

With a couple canvases and stencils purchased at Joann Fabrics, and a lot of time, I came up with something she really loved. I used an exacto knife and some masking tape to put the Christmas lights on. I only used a strand of 35. Really, it is so bright I could have used much less if I could find them.
THE FINAL PRODUCT!!!!
She just loves it. She wanted me to add a princess to the castle...like I said, I'm no artist so that may have to wait!

And when I do something this special for one I have to do something for the other....

This is a great project for the most anti-dyiers.
I love that I can give something of myself to my kids.

My girlie girl

Okay so I don't know how this happened...but one of the biggest "tomboys" I know has a girlie girl daughter. That would be my very own daughter. Not that I have done anything to keep her from being a girlie girl but I thought having an older brother would automatically make her more of a tomboy, as it did with me. But since our trip to Walt Disney World in September she has wanted to be a princess and really who am I to tell her no. As much as I want to put a baseball bat in her hand, I have to embrace this side of her. Pink and all.
But really doesn't she just look adorable in pink. But this change to her big girl room helped not only organize her belongs but also allowed me to allow my daughter to be herself. I love her pink and all.
After looking at a scholastic bookfair I found the perfect gift for her. It is a series of books called "Pinkalicious" by Victoria and Elizabeth Kann.

I am so excited to get some of these books for her and letting her get her PINK ON!!!
