Growing up we didn't vacation at the beach. We day tripped from home which is only an hour away. Or we would stay with my great grandmother who lived about 15 minutes from the beach. Still day tripping.
So leaving the beach was not an option when we wanted to sleep. We have always just napped right on our chairs or blanket. But since I have had kids napping on the beach hasn't happened.
But today, yes today, bothe of my kids wrapped themselves up in towels and slept. Lizzy even curled up with her daddy for a quick snooze.
The only down side is that I still can't nap while I'm alone. But when Jeff got back from grabbing lunch we were all able to rest. What a great beach day!
Ps. This is my first post from my new iPhone. We will see how this turns out.
One mom's way to make daily life neat and organized...while learning how to mix in a little style.

Florida Adventures
Part of my Florida adventure was spent with my wonderful aunt and uncle and their two fabulous boys. They moved south nearly a year ago when my uncle took a job at the Happiest Place on Earth!!!
That's right...he is a Disney employee. Promoting him to the coolest uncle in the family {my apoligizes to my dad and his other brother...working at Disney can't be topped...heehee}
So while in Florida, do Disney.
{fyi...we love Disney, we love everything about Disney, we love princesses and heros, we love singing and dancing to our favorite Disney songs, we love Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Goofy, and even Donald, we love Disney Channel, Disney Store and downtown Disney, we love watching a Disney movie so that we can see Tinker Bell fly around Cinderella Castle, We love Disney...Period}
And we got some great time with the family in their new home, which we just love!
Wish we had more time to be with you and can't wait until we can visit again!!! Thank you for opening your home to us and allowing for this wonderful day to happen! You guys are the best!
I didn't grow up in a traditional family...we were a "step" family, though we never looked at our selves that way. My dad was my dad, and his parents and brothers were my family...even though we didn't share the same last name. Through this family I gained two great aunts and four awesome little cousins {not to mention the extended family}. They make my life full and complete. I am very thankful for each of them.

Pinterest Friday...Kids Painting
So I know I have been MIA from my blog world for the last few weeks...We have been adventuring to say the least. From birthday parties, to a week long trip to Florida (which I did by myself with the kids), to beaching it up August has proven to be fun!!!
But even with all this...I was able to find time to a Pinterest find!!!!
While visiting a dear friend and her kids in Jacksonville, Florida, she wanted to do some kid art that we saw on pinterest. There are a few that I have seen, but here is a link to one site that I loved.
Attack of the Twins |
Totally cute right?? And makes me jealous that I do not have a Hobby Lobby near me!
All the materials you will need are:
Canvas any size you want
Painters tape
Finger paints
So as I was sewing away on a few sets of curtains (another post coming soon) my dear friend was preparing the canvases. She went for words that she wanted posted in her play room...I went for names.
Then we got the kids prepared!!!!
Put out something to protect the floors...And let them go to town!
Isn't she adorable!!!
I sat them outside, and in the Florida sun, it took no time for them to dry!!! So we peeled up the tape.
Aren't they adorable...I will post when I finally hang mine and when I get pictures from Florida. We are in the midst of switching rooms to create a playroom. This will be the first things that go up to make it theirs!
And I couldn't resist adding this one...
I mean look at those beautiful eyes and how darn proud he is of himself! What a cutie pie!!!!
Happy Friday!
